The Italian revealed Eden Hazard could get the nod over out-of-favor Frenchman Olivier Giroud, who is preparing to face his train club.
Giroud is still playing a game for Sarri's side this year and has been unhappy when quizzed about his current situation.
And Sarri is set to heap further misery on the 31-year-old when he names his team to face top-four rivals Arsenal.
When asked if Giroud can expect to start against his old side, he said: "I do not know at the moment.
I think that Giroud, in the first six months, played very often.
"Then it's normal, I think, that sometimes I'm going to be a very difficult match for the defensive phase, so I need my team balanced on the pitch."
Chelsea can put nine points between them and Arsenal with a victory at the Emirates.
They go into the game as favorites. Unai Emery has won the first four games in the Premier League.
However, Sarri has just gotten out of his hands.
"At the moment we have, out, only (Ruben) Loftus-Cheek with his back, this is a risk, and an opportunity," he said.
"A risk, of course, because they're doing very well at home, so it's a very difficult and dangerous game for us.
"So the match is very important, very difficult because they are really a very good team.
"In the offensive phase, I think they are one of the best teams in the Premier League – really very dangerous.
"So the match will be really very difficult, for us, will be really very important."
