Huddersfield Interim President Mark Hudson refused to look beyond Sunday's visit to Manchester City.
Hudson, 36, was promoted from the club's under-23 position after David Wagner left earlier this week.
The former captain of the Terriers, entrusted to Wagner in January 2018, paid tribute to the German and will not be fired for his future.

When asked if he wanted to stay in the role for the rest of the season, Hudson said, "I can not think beyond that Sunday." It's a pretty important game .
"It's a goal to hope for, so I'm going to focus on that, if we get a result, it will be for the players and the club and it would be fantastic."
Hudson also insisted that the struggle for survival of the Premier League Terriers is not a lost cause, even though they are at the bottom of the table and at eight points of safety.
"Without conviction, there is no point in being in this industry," he added. "I firmly believe in the players and what they have, that we can pose a threat to the teams."

As for the visitors this weekend, this match should be held too early for Benjamin Mendy, the injured left back of City.
The French international Mendy, signed in Monaco for £ 49.1m in 2017, missed big periods of both seasons at the club with knee problems.
