Mauricio Pochettino, coach of Tottenham Hotspur, admits that he has learned the lessons from his mistakes and that he has changed the way he talks about young players.

Argentina made a high-level comparison in 2016, pointing out that Spurs' teenage product from the academy, Marcus Edwards, had traits similar to those of Lionel Messi.

Edwards, highly rated, struggled to enter Tottenham's first team and is currently on loan at the Excelsior Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Pochettino had previously admitted that he may have made a mistake by pushing the young midfielder too early into the limelight and his latest comments confirmed that he needed to learn from the situation.

The Kazaiah Sterling Academy striker was training with the first team on Friday before the clash in the Fulham Premier League on Sunday. Striker Troy Parrott (Sterling, 20 and 16 years old) was accused of having a chance on the bench after Harry Kane's ankle injury.

However, Pochettino did not want to name other young players than Oliver Skipp, 18, who has already made his debut in the first team this season.

"I do not want to talk about young people, I made a mistake that you know very well a few years ago and I'm not happy with this situation," he said.

"I think I'm a person that I'm trying to learn from my mistakes in trying to put some names in the spotlight and help us put maybe too much pressure." That's why I will not make the same mistakes, I do not want to give names, talk about young individual players.

"Many players will be involved in the next few months and perhaps until the end because it will be difficult to get the players to sign.

"What's important is that they do not need to show too much, but only to take advantage of the training session to participate, to learn and to show their team-mates that they can trust them. "

"Of course, if they deserve it, the many young people who have been involved with us are sure they will have the opportunity to play."

"I think you know very well that Oliver Skipp has been involved in recent months with the first team, but we will also give the opportunity to participate in the training of the first team to different players."
