Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claims transfer of Philippe Coutinho amid rumors according to Man Utd | Football | sport

Coutinho spent six years in Liverpool and became a hero among the fans at Anfield.

But 12 months ago, he was forced to travel to Barcelona under a contract worth 142 million pounds.

However, moving to Nou camp has not been easy, but Coutinho is struggling to adapt to life in La Liga.

And the Brazilian's misfortune led him to say he could join Manchester United.

Klopp was questioned about the rumors surrounding Coutinho and whether he was planning to return to Liverpool.

But the boss of the Reds has rejected any hope of back in force for the playmaker.

"It's something I do not want to talk about. I would not say it's a potential or probable transfer, "Klopp said.

"Nothing to say, whatever I say would open more stories and there are none.

"Phil is in Barcelona and, as I know, he is doing very well and everything is fine."

Thursday, Liverpool tied Andy Robertson to a new long-term deal.

Robertson's renewal follows Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who have all promised their future at the club.

And Klopp thinks the contract extensions prove that Liverpool is preparing for the future as well as the present.

"I'm very happy with that. It's really cool and Robbo's very special story that I still love – the improvement and development of it is simply outstanding, no one can accurately imagine it, "said Klopp.

"We all hoped it could be so, but can you really expect it? I do not think so. So it's great and it's nice to have this boy because he's not just a fantastic player, he's even better.

"I improved my Scottish with him a little and it helps with all conversations with Kenny Dalglish, but it's still different from being honest, what kind of language Kenny speaks!

"It's good and in general it's a very good sign. It's always a good sign for a club when you have the opportunity to extend contracts earlier, for example. This team, if we can keep these boys together, there is a very good age group, we are really in the middle of development, so that's good news for Liverpool.

"These 17, 18 or 19 players plus the very young boys is the team of tomorrow. That's how the investment was made and the club gave us the opportunity to do it [it’s] really nice."
