Trent Alexander-Arnold signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a new long-term contract with leaders of the Premier League.
Alexander-Arnold, who crossed the Liverpool youth system before making his debut in the first team in October 2016, signed a five-year contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2024.
The 20-year-old has established himself as Jurgen Klopp's first-choice right-back and took part in last year's World Cup as a member of Gareth Southgate's English team.

"I'm ecstatic and really proud," said Alexander-Arnold. "I feel privileged to have the support and confidence of the club to offer me a new contract.
"There was no doubt in my mind to sign and extend the years that I have with the club.I hope we can achieve a lot of success over these years."

Alexander-Arnold has signed a long-term contract in the summer of 2017, but his progress over the last 18 months should be reflected in the terms of the new contract.
Confirmation of the Alexander-Arnold pledge comes just two days after Andy Robertson, the other Liverpool side back, also signed a new deal until 2024.
The defender played a crucial role as Liverpool advanced to the top of the Premier League, with 18 wins in 22 games, leaving them four points clear of the Manchester City champion.

Alexander-Arnold is expected to miss the clash with Liverpool at Crystal Palace on Saturday, but he is expected to return sooner than expected after early news would have left him thinking that he would be away for four weeks.
