The deputy of Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, revealed that he had almost beaten the investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In an interview with Asempa FM, he explained that this had happened on the premises of the General Legal Council (GLC).
Adomonline.com reports that Agyapong added that his hatred for Anas made it almost impossible for them to meet without a fight.
YEN.com.gh had previously reported that Agyapong had dragged Anas in front of the GLC on charges of unprofessional conduct.
He explained that the modus operandi of Anas involved trapping people and that this should not be tolerated.
After being summoned by the GLC, Agyapong revealed that it was difficult for him to keep his cool and almost beat Anas.
The tension between the two men reached a new level after the badbadination of Ahmed Hussein Suale, a colleague of Anas, on the night of Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Madina, Accra.
An old video showing Agyapong threatening to hit Ahmed quickly surfaced online and sparked intense debate.
According to Agyapong, the release of the video is a conspiracy by Anas to divert attention.
He added that as long as the police would not have invited Anas to answer questions, he would not respond to their requests for badistance in the course of investigations.
