Gadaffi Hbadan, the deceased
The man shot during a shootout near Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, in the northern region, was identified by police as Gadaffi Hbadan Mohammed, a member of the Ghana Audit Service in Tamale. .
He was found dead Friday in an abandoned building near the palace after a late-night police shootings between unknown neighborhoods and members of the security forces just moments from the exercise of traditional rituals intended to bury the new Ya-Naa.
Mohammed was with two other people in the building who were stopped by the police and army team with an AK 47 badault rifle.

The two alleged accomplices, who since their arrest refused to speak to the police, are currently being held by the Yendi Divisional Police Command.
The DSP Yussif Tanko, who confirmed the latest developments in the case, said the two men would be brought to justice for possessing firearms without permission and would challenge the curfew after the investigations.
Police reports indicate that the incident occurred at 9:25 pm sharp Friday, while sowing rituals were about to begin at Gbewaa Palace for the new Ya-Naa, Naa Abubakar Mahama.
Unknown gunmen were reported to have fired in the area while the curfew was in effect at nightfall, forcing the security personnel to return fire.
"Security forces on the ground fought back and pursued the shooters inside the building, after the police and the army surrounded him," confirmed at 3news.com, 39 Public Relations Officer of the Northern Region Police, DSP Mohammed Yussif Tanko.

Other people who fired shots in three different directions at about the same time were pursued but managed to escape arrest.
