Five people accused of having participated in the extremist attack launched this week against a hotel complex in Nairobi have appeared in court and prosecutors said the investigation had progressed.
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji, said the investigations were complex and transnational and that enough time was needed to discover the entire "criminal union".
Kenyan authorities said 21 people, including one policeman, were killed. The five attackers are dead.
