After the meeting with the NLA Business Development Committee, Tanzanians were trained by the Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, ALN's General Manager on the Authority's Transformation Agenda, comprising the following elements:

1. Electronic kiosk concept

The electronic kiosk is one of the best commercial models of the Authority. The e-kiosk project has no financial burden for the Authority and the government. It's a private initiative in collaboration with the National Lottery Authority. The private sector is responsible for the financial arrangements for the electronic kiosk. The E-Kiosk project has been subjected to all court proceedings and all necessary arrangements for full implementation across Ghana and beyond.

The electronic kiosk would offer a wide range of services such as banking, mobile money, courier services, remittances, payment of water bills, electricity bills, digital television fees, etc.

The e-kiosk project will involve national institutions such as NABCO, YEA, Ghana Post, Ghana Revenue Authority, District Secretariat, Factory, MMDAs and Members of Parliament.

The successful implementation of the E-Kiosk project will triple the revenue generated by the National Lottery Authority.

2. NLA-VAG Collaboration

Kofi Osei-Ameyaw told Tanzanians that in order to establish uniform regulation and supervision, the National Lottery Authority wanted to push for the repeal of VAG Law 844 and Law 721 on to the games so that all forms of lottery and gambling would be under the authority of the National Lottery. The Ghana Gaming Commission established under the Gaming Act 721 is under the Ministry of the Interior, while the Ghana Veterans Administration established under VAG 844 is under the authority of the Ministry of the Interior. defense.

However, the Ministry of Defense, in agreement with the National Lottery Administration Board and the Ghana Veterans Administration, has decided to collaborate in a beneficial manner with both institutions instead of the other. repeal Law 844.

In accordance with the agreement between ALN ​​and VAG, the National Lottery Authority will launch the NLA-VAG lottery operations in the very near future and will begin for the benefit of the government, veterans, military, and local government. ALN and potential customers.

3. End of the illegal lottery

The Director General, Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, then explained that one of the Authority's nightmares was an illegal lottery and that the ALN repeatedly supported by the Association of Societies of Lotto marketing had caused the arrest and prosecution of illegal lotto operators, agents and writers. .

However, due to lack of resources, political pressure and interference, no appropriate sanctions have been imposed on illegal operators, agents and lottery writers. In addition, most illegal lottery operators and agents were working under a license issued by the Veterans Administration Ghana under Law 844 which gave veterans the right to participate in raffles or lotteries to give them autonomy. economic and financial.

The National Lottery Authority of the NPP Government has taken a more innovative and pragmatic approach to countering illegal lottery transactions in Ghana by registering, validating and granting a banking license to operators, agents and lottery writers who can meet all the requirements of the market. National Lottery Authority.

4. NLA Self-Financing Business Model and Payments to the Consolidated Fund

Since its creation, the National Lottery Authority has been relying on a self-financing commercial model without public funds.

The Authority is responsible for generating its own revenue for the administration, operations and overall management of the NLA.

The Administration is responsible for the payments of its employees and service providers.

Under Law 722, ALN is also required to pay money to the government through the Consolidated Fund for National Development.

Tanzanians were very impressed by the delivery of Kofi Osei-Ameyaw and urged him to help the Tanzanian government restructure and transform lottery operations and operations in Tanzania.
