Five possible cases of swine flu surface in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) announced Saturday that it has received a confirmed patient (H1N1 flu) and four suspected patients.

According to Pims spokesperson Dr. Waseem Khawaja, 34-year-old samples of Asma Faisal have been tested and confirmed to be infected with swine flu.

He added that the patient was from Abbottabad and was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

Faisal, he said, was admitted to Pims four days ago with complaints of fever, severe flu and respiratory problems.
