BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) – Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla will recall 14,123 of its S model vehicles in China to replace potentially defective front pbadenger air bags, according to the Chinese market regulator.
The recall, starting April 10 of this year, will concern imported model S cars built between February 4, 2014 and December 9, 2016, announced the State Administration for Market Regulation.
The front pbadenger airbags, manufactured by the Japanese manufacturer Takata, have defective inflation devices that could fracture and cause injury, said the administration.
The company will replace defective airbags for free.
