Pete Davidson addresses his fight for mental health while returning to SNL

Making jokes about his mental health, comedian Pete Davidson made his first appearance in a Saturday Night Live skit since the alarming release of social media last month stating that he was planning to commit suicide.

Davidson said in the Weekend segment with special guest star John Mulaney: "As you know, I spent a really crazy month and I want to talk about something that matters a lot."

His co-presenter, Colin Jost, asks, "Mental health?"

Davidson replies, "Clint Eastwood's new film, The Mule."

Mulaney said: "I spend time with Pete to try to show him that you can have a comedy that is not crazy. A sober domestic life.

To which Davidson replies: "After observing John's life, I publicly threatened to commit suicide.

& # 39; I am sorry. I should not do this joke. It's funny anyway.

"After watching John's life, I publicly threatened to kill myself," Davidson said Saturday.

Mulaney and Davidson make a lot of jokes about the film, in which Eastwood plays a 90-year-old drug transport man.

Davidson appeared as a Clemson football player at the cold opening of the series, which featured Alec Baldwin as President Donald Trump and Kenan Thompson as Steve Harvey.

The last time Davidson appeared on the show was a brief appearance featuring Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson on December 15th.

The disturbing post rang the alarm among Davidson's famous friends, including his ex-fiancé, pop star Ariana Grande.

After her article on social media about a possible suicide, Grande reportedly attempted to visit Davidson at SNL's offices at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan, but the entry refused to her.

The past year has been a whirlwind for the comedian, who made headlines for his relationship with Grande after his separation from rapper Mac Miller in May (a few months before his fatal overdose in September).

Pete and the singer of Imagine began their relationship in June, culminating in a brief engagement before the couple's separation in October.

In the weeks following SNL's publication and one-month break, Davidson made headlines in the gossip pages.

Earlier this month, he had romantic ties with actress Kate Beckinsale, with whom he had bonded at an evening after the Golden Globes in Hollywood.
