Popular media personality Toke Makinwa reacted to the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar in the presidential debate on Saturday night.

DAILY POST previously announced that President Buhari, candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Democratic People's Party, PDP, candidate, Atiku, had fled the event.

In a statement, Atiku blamed Buhari's absence for motivating the boycott of the debate, but the APC candidate, Buhari, was declared absent due to his tight schedule.

Reacting, Makinwa lamented the decision of the candidates not to stand for debate, saying that Atiku should have stood for the Nigerians.

According to her, Atiku could have concentrated and sold his diary to Nigerians without worrying about other candidates who would not show up.

On her Twitter page, she wrote: "Atiku could have seen this as an opportunity, focus on your goal, ignore who decides not to introduce yourself and introduce yourself to Nigerians."
