Akumba A hard-to-support temperature and a group of 40 athletes complete three difficult events to win a 5,000 GH GH award and the opportunity to represent Ghana at the Pan-African Maltavator Championship scheduled for 24 February in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Akumba breathless in an interview after being seen delivering a fake check, said he was delighted with his victory and was eager to conquer Africa.

According to him, he was not going to be complacent in his training as he was preparing for the contest in South Africa.

He will be accompanied by five other players to participate in Johannesburg, including Samuel Osei Mensah and Emmanuel. Gyeta who finished the course in second and third places respectively. The pair received GH ₵ 3000 and GH 2000 for their performance.

The course included obstacles such as knitting through the cones, knee slipping through the tires, scrambling or low rattling, hurdles, human labyrinth, tire roll-over, balance race, archery, suspension bars and boxed jumps.

Malta Guinness brand manager, Roland Ofori, said he hoped that the winner of the Panafrican Maltavator Challenge would emerge from the six finalists.

He also congratulated all the participants, especially those who participated in the regional qualifications in Accra, Takoradi, Kumasi and Tamale.
