The Ministry of the Interior has renewed the curfew imposed on Yendi Township and its surrounding area as of Sunday, 20 January 2019.
In a statement signed by Ambrose Dery, sector minister, and forwarded to the Ghana News Agency, the Ghana News Agency said the curfew renewal was on the agenda. Northern Region Security Council and an executive instrument.
The ban on carrying weapons, ammunition or any offensive weapon was still in effect and anyone found with weapons or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
The statement urged people to be restrained in their challenges and to use non-violent means to address their grievances to ensure peace in the region.
