The Ghana Ports and Harbors Administration (GPHA) has donated 50,000 Swedish kronor to an informant who would provide the police with credible information that would lead to the arrest of the killers of Josephine Tanor Asante, Public Affairs and Marketing Manager Tema Port.
In addition, the Ghana Police Service has also announced a bonus of 15,000 GHC for anyone wishing to provide credible information that could help stop the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
A statement issued in Tema and signed by the Acting Director General of the Authority, Michael Luguje, said: "The GPHA is committed to badisting and speeding up police investigation procedures by offering the amount indicated above as a reward for any group person who will provide the police with the first relevant information leading to the arrest and sentencing of the murderer (s) of Ms. Josephine Asante. "
"Therefore, anyone with such information can contact Tema's regional criminal investigation department."
The Acting Director General, who described the badbadination of his subordinate as shocking, expressed his gratitude for the support offered by the public as the police continued to investigate the case.
On January 12, 2019, the former Director of Marketing and Public Relations participated in an end-of-year party organized by the GPHA at Senior Club Staff House, Community 6, in Tema.
At the end of the evening, around 11:30 pm, Josephine's official driver drove her into her personal Mercedes Benz sedan.
The driver then went down to the Michel Camp bus stop so that she could continue her return journey.
According to the prosecution, the man met Josephine on her arrival and took a polythene bag she had in the kitchen and let her sleep in her room in the boys' quarters.
The accused was unable to confirm the time of arrival of the deceased nor to know if there was anyone in the Mercedes-Benz's salon-car of the deceased, said the prosecutor.
The prosecution stated that the accused stated that at around 3.30am he woke up because of "unusual" screams.
He said that when he came out he saw the back of a man in a black shirt and jeans running in the living room and going to the front door of the house.
The 12-year-old son of the deceased was reported to have woken up and, with the accused, carried out a search of the house, but nothing was found. They went back to sleep.
On January 13, 2018, around 8:30 am, an attempt to open the door of the deceased's room was unsuccessful.
The son of the deceased called the driver of his late mother to inform him of what was going on in the house and he rushed to the deceased's home.
Upon entering the house, the driver found a bunch of keys that would have opened the main door of the house at the entrance.
The key was then used to open the room of the deceased found supine in a pool of blood on the floor.
Investigators at the crime scene later found an exchange of sperm, foot and fingerprints that were lifted for badysis and examination.
The prosecutor said the police investigators had seen the man from the house burying a polythene bag containing a quantity of 430 GH ¢ near the boys' housing in the house.
The police also found the deceased's wristwatch in the polythene bag.
