Carlos Ghosn, the former head of Nissan detained in Tokyo for financial misconduct, promised Monday to stay in Japan if he was released on bail and again denied committing a wrongdoing.
The Tokyo District Court will review the latest bail application 64 years later on Monday, but has already rejected Ghosn's previous applications for release, considering it a risk of leakage likely to destroy evidence.

"As the court reviews my bail application, I want to point out that I will be residing in Japan and that I will respect all bail conditions deemed necessary by the court," Ghosn said in a statement. a statement issued by its representatives in the United States.
The Franco-Lebanese-Brazilian executive has promised to appear at any future trial "not only because I am legally obliged to do so, but also because I can not wait to finally defend myself".

Ghosn faces three charges of financial misconduct.
His senior counsel stated that it was unlikely that he would be released on bail before holding a trial, which could take up to six months.
Ghosn said he was in his detention cell in Tokyo for 64 days "without possible release".
