Former President John Dramani Mahama has promised to make the unit one of his main goals when he will stand as a standard-bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Addressing NDC delegates at separate meetings in Aburi, Akropong, Okere, Asesewa and Odumase Krobo as part of his five-day campaign tour in the Eastern Region, Mr. Mahama said that the NDC needed unity and hard work to win the 2020 elections.

He said the NDC flag candidates were not his political opponents and so he was ready to get them to participate in his campaign for victory in the upcoming presidential elections.

Mahama said the NDC lost many seats in the 2016 elections due to disunity in some constituencies.

He therefore appealed to all party members to unite and work hard for the party to return to power.

The former president said that when he is elected, he will work hard to create jobs and reduce the high cost of living in the country.

The former president's campaign has already taken him to all the ridings in the Center, Haut-Ouest, Haut-Orient, and Nord regions.

In addition, Mr. Mahama visited all constituencies in the Greater Accra, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti and West regions to ask delegates for a mandate to lead the NDC to victory in general elections. of 2020.

In particular, he promised to tackle the problem of cocoa farmers, including the government's decision to sell "not for sale" fertilizer and abandoned cocoa roads, artisbad mining and current economic difficulties.

The former president also promised to work hard to create jobs and reduce the high cost of living in the country during his election in the presidential election of 2020.
