Shaun Dobinson, a New York vacation advocate, does not have "diabetes alertness"

An investigation revealed that a man who died on vacation in New York had not been warned of the dangerousness of newly diagnosed diabetes.

Shaun Dobinson, 21, of Washington, Tyne and Wear, suffered fatal heart attacks due to his health while he was in the city in June 2016.

Her sister told the Sunderland Coroner's Court that her doctor did not advise her to travel.

But his general practitioner, Dr. Nandu Bhatt, said he was not aware of Mr. Dobinson's plans.

A blood test revealed that Mr Dobinson was diabetic, but no urine test was performed to determine whether he had type 2 strain of the disease or the more acute form of type 1, which requires more urgent treatment.

On May 13th, the investigation told Dobinson that he was prescribed a medication usually used to treat type 2 diabetes and that he was referred to a diabetic clinic.

He flew to New York on May 26, but collapsed in his hotel on June 2 and died at the hospital the following day.

A pathologist said in the investigation that cardiac arrest was badociated with type 1 diabetes.

Mr Dobinson's sister, Kirsty, insisted that she was with him when he asked Dr. Bhatt if it was ok to go on vacation.

However, Dr. Bhatt refuted this badertion and said that had he been informed of his trip, he would have advised against going there until his treatment plan was confirmed.

She said that visiting the doctor with him was one of her brother's last memories and that she was convinced that he had talked to Dr. Bhatt about it, so much he was excited and that he was excited about it. there was "no one to his knowledge who did not know him".

The investigation is continuing.
