Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong has agreed to join Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
According to Radio Catalunya, the Dutch midfielder in high demand made his final decision and informed Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain that he was planning to travel to Nou Camp.
The Dutch international has been sought after by almost all the best European clubs and the trio of big money has become the main contender for his signature.
The 21-year-old decided to sign his contract with Barcelona on Jan. 3, alongside Jason Murillo and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
It is expected that he will travel to Spain to finalize the deal, which could be worth up to 80 million pounds on Wednesday.
This means that Pep Guardiola missed one of his main targets, considered a long-term substitute for Fernandinho.
Guardiola recently admitted to establishing a shortlist to replace the elderly Brazilian, but De Jong's move to Spain could force them to strike a name off the list and look elsewhere.
