Lord Kenya, the famous Hip-Life artist, says he is ready to perform at the 20th anniversary of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) when he is invited.
The VGMA has been in existence for two decades and is Ghana's most prestigious event to reward artists.
A series of programs have been aligned as part of the 20th anniversary of the awards, including the long awaited Artist of the Decade Award.
Speaking on Hitz FM, based in Accra, Lord Kenya said he was willing to occur at the event, if only an invitation was addressed to him.
Born Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo, the veteran rapper is now an evangelist and says that he will take advantage of the opportunity on stage to earn more souls for Christ. "I am still a musician but where I am, I am doing what God has commanded me," Lord Kenya said.
"People doubted me when I turned to God's work. What I can tell them is that my past was not me … it was a mistaken identity. If I make music again, I need the Holy Spirit to keep me informed.
"If Charterhouse wants me to play on stage to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, let's talk about it, but it will be a surprise. At the end of the day, you will hear that Jesus is the Lord, "he added.
Lord Kenya is considered one of the best Hip-Life artists to have ever emerged from Ghana. He has already won the VGMA Song Awards of the Year, the Hip – Llife Song of the Year, the Hiplife Album of the Year and the Artist. of the year.
