Boakye-Gyan says Ghanaians do not feel safe in the country
Ghana is no longer safe, said Major Osaahene Kojo Boakye-Gyan (Rtd), spokesman for the Revolutionary Council of the Armed Forces (AFRC).
According to him, the inability of the security authorities to convict criminals has encouraged other villains to carry out their harmful activities with impunity, a situation he believes threatens the safety of law-abiding citizens.
Commenting on the recent killing of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale, Major Boakye-Gyan (Rtd) told Kwabena Prah Jnr (The Don) about Ghana Yensom at Accra100.5FM, Wednesday, January 23, 2019: countryside. When this happens, because we are unable to treat the guilty, others are encouraged to do the same. "
He added: "The efforts of the police, the government or anyone in charge do not result in any criminal convictions, which is worrying for me.
"J.B. Danquah-Adu, the deputy, was killed at his home and no one has yet been sentenced. We are not all safe in the country. Why did not we have a single criminal conviction for any of these things going on? "
Mr. Hussein-Suale was shot and wounded three times on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Madina, a suburb of Accra, as he was returning home around 10 pm.
His badailants fled on a motorcycle.
