All candidates were examined at the party's headquarters on Tuesday 22 January.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) completed the voting process for its flag bearer candidates with Alban Kingsford's second vice-speaker, Sumana Bagbin, who won the first square.
The process was conducted by the NDC Election Commission for the 2020 presidential primaries on Wednesday, January 23, 2018.
Nurudeen Iddrisu, a businessman, took second place, while former president John Dramani Mahama took third place.
The positions of the different candidates on the ballot are as follows:
1 * Alban S.K Bagbin
2 * Nurideen Iddrisu
3 * John Dramani Mahama
4 * Sylvester Mensah
5 * Ekwow Spio-Garbrah
6 * Goosie Tanoh
7 * Prof. Joshua Alabi
Bede Ziedeng, acting director of elections, said the elections would be smooth and fair and transparent.
The NDC has set February 23, 2019 as its presidential primary.
The NDC postponed the election of the party's flag bearer, which was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 26, 2019, following a lawsuit against it by two of its members.
Party members Abdallah Issah and James Kabu Nartey-Oman filed a lawsuit against the party last December over the directives governing the presidential primary.
However, the plaintiffs and the defendants agreed to an amicable settlement when they appeared in the High Court of Accra on Monday, January 14, 2019.
