The youngest of the seven flag-bearers of the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) has high hopes after a rigorous monitoring session with the party's control committee on Tuesday.
Nurideen Iddrissu outlined his vision of development through empowerment and the policies he would defend if he were elected to lead the party at the next presidential primary.
He and six of his nominees – former President John Mahama, Second Vice President Alban Bagbin, Professor Joshua Alabi, Sylvester Mensah, Dr. Ekwow Spio Gabrah and Goozie Tanoh were all reviewed the same day with the report. of the scheduled examination. to the functional executive committee of the party on Wednesday.
A selection committee member, James Klutse Avedzi, said that all candidates had described their situation well, but that the full report would be published soon.
It is not yet clear whether the seven candidates will aspire to the ballot for a competitive election on February 23, but Nurideen Iddrissu said his odds are brighter than ever.
Shortly after his hearing, he told the media that the agenda and vision of the Nurids to regain power under the lame Akufo-Addo regime were well-defined.
"I have presented to the committee members my hopes, vision and practical steps to bring our country back to a path of sustained growth and development," he said.
Although he is the youngest of the candidates, Nurideen Iddrisu said that his policies, his aspirations, are the most visionary and aim to empower young people, protect the elderly and vulnerable and defend the cause of businessmen from the country.
At age 43, Iddrisu saw everything in business after working in the banking, oil and gas and construction sectors of the country.
Neither is he a neophyte in politics, except that he has refused to be on the front line of politics in the past, choosing instead to financially support the party.
Mr. Iddrisu said that the time had come for him to be on the front line and that he would make no effort to lead the NDC to victory in 2020.
He is ready to continue his campaign pending the publication of the results of the vote and the day of the presidential primaries.
