Chelsea News: Maurizio Sarri misses Leandro Paredes signature

Chelsea should not sign Leandro Paredes, as Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of concluding an agreement with Zenit, according to reports.

Maurizio Sarri wants the Argentine international to replace Cesc Fabregas, who joined Monaco earlier this month, but Chelsea refused to answer Zenit's request.

PSG is also on the market for a new central midfielder. Adrien Rabiot is expected to leave at the end of the season. The French champions also lost in the race to sign Frenkie de Jong, of Ajax, who will join Barcelona in summer.

According to the Russian daily Sport-Express, PSG is about to sign a contract with Paredes and has almost reached an agreement with Zenit.

Zenit executive director Pavel Pivovarov has traveled to Paris to continue negotiations, while PSG is ready to spend € 48 million on signing the midfielder.

The 24-year-old will sign a four and a half year contract with the French champions.

Chelsea will now have to consider other solutions and could make a new effort to sign the contract with Nicolo Barella of Cagliari.

But the club Serie A claims 50 million euros transfer, while the player aged 21 would prefer to stay in Italy and would favor a transfer to Inter or Naples, who have expressed their interest.
