Ghanaian police said two specialized units of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had joined forces to quell the recent wave of crimes in some parts of the country.
A statement by the director of Ghana's public affairs directorate says that they mobilize all their resources to deal with the security situation.
"Officers of specialized units of the criminal investigation service, including the Against terrorism and special weapons and tactical units are part of the investigative team responsible for these cases, "said the statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police David Eklu.
Wave of crimes
The revelation of the police follows the killing of three people, contractual in nature, the kidnapping of some girls in Takoradi, the capital of the Western Region, and a general increase the number of major crimes committed in different parts of the country.

Minority MPs and civil society organizations were right to criticize the government What they are saying is a dangerously lethargic police service that fights crime and is characterized by an increase in violent crime across the country.
"For example, according to statistics from the Ghanaian police, robbery cases recorded at the end of the year year In 2017, they were 1,772 against 1,397 in 2016. This represents an increase of 27%. The situation has not improved in 2018, with robbery alone reaching 968 in the first quarter, "the minority legislator recently said.
In addition, Kwesi Aning, a security badyst, said, regrettably, that the sudden rise in violent crime and activism in the country was hardly surprising.
"We have become a tolerant society when it is linked to violence, it has become a spectacle when violence actually occurs."
"I'm not at all surprised, and it's going to increase dramatically before we can get an idea. Our language itself glorifies violence and, at present, threatens to harm someone. The kind of indiscipline that glorifies violence in the public space is not surprising, "he said.

Murder of the contractual type
Violent crime, said Dr. Aning, became a show in Ghana and urged commentators to dispel the shock of the wave of crimes to have hit the country.
Notable cases in recent weeks include:
the stab to death a pastor, the Reverend Dr. David Nabegmado, to his church.
The pastor was attacked while he was preparing to leave his home office to go to the main church auditorium, the service continuing on December 30, 2018.
In addition, a chef at Prampram was shot dead in December 2018.
On January 13, 2019, Josephine Asante, Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority in charge of the Port of Tema was stabbed to death at her home.
On January 17, 2018, an investigator of Anas Aremeyaw, Anas PI Tiger Eye, Ahmed HusseinSuale was shot in his car.
Currently, three girls abducted in Takoradi by a union suspected of being Nigerian – about five months ago – are still missing, prompting the media campaign #BringbackourTaadigirls.

Meanwhile, the police are urging the public to voluntarily provide credible information that will help them solve crimes.
Subregional cooperation
Executive Director of the West Africa Network for Peace building (WANEP), Chukwu Emeka Eze, said it was time that police in the West African subregion work more closely to solve the crimes.
He believes that it was the most effective way to fight cross-border crime.
Mr Eze therefore called on the Member States to invest in close cooperation.
"It is high time that we start practicing community policing more closely … I am talking about ECOWAS as a community because we have known in the past that our borders are artificial.
"If we do not have an investment in a process of maintaining order that connects the entire subregion, we will continue to have these kinds of challenges. We need to examine the method of maintaining order … we can not use the maintenance of badog order for digital crimes, "he told Joy News.
Western Area Police Commander Vincent Dedjoe, the DCOP's Redeemer, told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday that Interpol had been put on alert to help track down unions crime in the subregion.
