Derek Carr had a tough season in the NFL.
And now, he's ready to fight.
The Raiders quarterback watched the core of the team he led to a 12-4 record two seasons ago dismounted around him. New Chief Jon Gruden has his own vision and does not include the stars or the general manager of the old regime.
Angst starts with Jon Gruden talking about Kyler Murray
Except that Carr is still standing. For the moment. Gruden appears to be caught up with former Oklahoma quarterback, Kyler Murray, winner of the Heisman Trophy, who should be part of the first round pick of the upcoming NFL draft.
The Raiders therefore have three first-round selections in this project.
"I used to think about it until I saw Drew Brees twice a year in Tampa, "Gruden told the press on Tuesday about his thoughts on the smaller quarters." Then I met Russell Wilson coming out of the state N.C., and now I'm looking at this kid, Murray, coming out of Oklahoma and I'm putting away all the prototypes I had. I had a prototype for the size of the hands, the height, the strength of the arms, etc.
"We are looking for guys who can play. They are of all shapes and sizes.
So here is. Gruden seems interested in Murray.
Max Kellerman attacks Carr and approves Murray
Max Kellerman of ESPN's "First Take" was based on the idea of a possible Raiders-Murray couple to set the tone for Carr on Wednesday.
"You can see when a quarterback does not want it," Kellerman said Wednesday. "And Carr did not want it, I think Gruden knows they have to move on.
"The question is, can they get something for him? Is there a placeholder until they find the next guy? How long will it take to develop the next guy?
And Kyler Murray. If you can catch it in the rough. Hell yeah. "
Kellerman did not question Carr's abilities with this take. He took his character as a professional. These can be interpreted as opposite words, and that's exactly how Carr took them.

Carr wants to enter the octagon with "clowns on television"
Later on Wednesday, Carr contacted Dana White, UFC boss, on Twitter, to stage a fight with "two of these clowns on television".
One of these "clowns" is clearly Kellerman. The other is supposed to be his companion "First Take", Stephen A. Smith.
Carr then confirmed that Kellerman was the target of his anger, while insinuating that the ESPN host was accountable via his fists.
Carr would also like to have the opportunity to embarrbad Kellerman and Smith about their alleged lack of knowledge about football.
So yes, Carr is sensitive right now. His team is in shambles, his work is in jeopardy and a head on television has put his integrity as a professional and leader at stake.
It is difficult to blame him for wanting to enter the cage.
