The former Dutch star will leave Rotterdam at the end of 2018-19, after winning five trophies in four years.
Feyenoord announced that Giovanni van Bronckhorst would step down as head coach at the end of the season.
The 43-year old star from Barcelona and the Netherlands is looking forward to a new challenge after an extremely successful period of success that began in 2015.
Van Bronckhorst, who started and ended his playing career in Rotterdam, has won two KNVB Bekers, two Johan Cruyff Shields and the 2016-17 Eredivisie title, the first Feyenoord title since 1999.

"There is still a lot to fight for this season, we have to ensure European football through the league or the cup and I can not wait to see it," he said on the club's website.
"At the same time, I thought a lot about whether I wanted to stay one or more years as Feyenoord's head coach after this season." It was a very difficult decision, because Feyenoord is in my heart.
"However, in my career, I've always followed my feelings and these are telling me now that I should not do that."
Technical Director Martin van Geel said: "Gio is really an emotional person.If he himself has an idea of wanting something different after this season, we can only respect that.
"We are already very grateful for his valuable contribution to the club's recent and unprecedented time.

"Whatever Giovanni does after this season, his bond with us and the club will always be indestructible."
And Van Geel admitted that his team had not yet established a list of potential replacements.
"It gives us time to find a suitable successor, without doubt, the names of the so-called candidates will start tomorrow, but we are not yet so far away, and we will take the time to weigh what will be best for Feyenoord."
