The Crystal Palace would have made an offer to engage Everton striker Cenk Tosun and an agreement is likely to be reached – but the Turkish striker's comments on his refusal to settle at Selhurst Park in 2017 are likely to provoke anger. Palace lovers.
Turkish boutique Hurriyet said Palace wanted to sign Tosun, while the player himself wanted to join Roy Hodgson's club. Marco Silva would also be interested in unloading Tosun, to make room for Michy Batshuayi.
Go back to the summer of 2017 and Tosun would have been the last person that palace fans wanted his club to sign after comments from the striker following a failed transfer from Besiktas to Selhurst Park.
Indeed, Turkish international Tosun seemed unwilling to move to Palace in 2017, after the London-based club made an offer for the German-born star in the final moments of the summer period. He was happy to stay in Besiktas.
