The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwesi Amoako Atta, said that the problem of defective traffic lights in Accra will be solved since June of this year.

He added that the ministry would create a traffic management center to remotely coordinate all traffic lights.

He said the center would also allow the Urban Roads Department to monitor traffic light failures.

Mr. Amoako Atta gave this badurance when he took part in the series of meetings with the press organized by the Ministry of Information in Accra last Tuesday.

This is good news and comforting badurances from the government, especially due to delays and pain caused by faulty traffic lights, causing damage to motorists and pedestrians.

Not too surprising, however, not all lights work anymore.

It's as if we had resigned ourselves to the streets without light and that drivers still had to do magic to get to their destination.

Road markings are also allowed to fade to such an extent that drivers need to be very aware of the roads to use them. There seems to be a total breakdown on our roads, which is not enough.

The Daily Graphic is therefore asking the relevant government agencies, particularly the metropolitan, municipal and district bademblies, to ensure that as soon as the light bulbs go out, they are replaced to light up all the streets and corners. throughout the year.
