Maurizio Sarri explained why Emerson Palmieri's playing time was limited to Chelsea, but he said the defender remained on the spot.
Palmieri started the Carabao Cup victory over Tottenham last night and the 24-year-old was impressive on the left flank of the Blues, but his playing time this season is in the cups for Chelsea.
The 24 year old, who arrived 12 months ago from Roma for £ 17.6m, plus £ 7m in additions, has not yet started a Premier League game under Sarri and has only 13 minutes of action to his credit.
His debut was all in the FA Cup and Carabao and this led to a reported interest from Juventus, according to The The Guardian.
Sarri, however, ruled out a move by the Italian, who signed a four and a half year contract last January.
"Emerson will stay with us, for sure," said Sarri after Chelsea's shootout win over the Spurs. "It is very important. He is improving.
"Sometimes I've had a little problem putting it in because we're not a very physical team, so when we play with three little players in the same match, the set pieces can be a problem, but not for another reason. I am very happy with him, he is improving and he is a very good player. "
