An observational study showed that patients believed in their ability to move despite the pain in the shoulder and hoped for a positive result.1

Rachel Chester, lead author of the study at East Anglia University in Norwich, said, "The management of physiotherapy is effective for many people suffering from shoulder pain, but not for everybody. We wanted to know what factors predicted why some people did better than others. "
