Cesar Azpilicueta was involved in a lively exchange with Maurizio Sarri at the Chelsea training ground this week, reports reported.

In the wake of Arsenal's 2-0 defeat of Arsenal last Saturday, Sarri publicly tore apart his players and claimed with staggering claim that they are "hard to motivate".

The Italian also said his Chelsea players would never be known for their "combat and combat skills".

Sarri conducted a survey at Chelsea's training ground this week, but according to the Times, Azpilicueta and Willian disagreed with the team's badessment by their manager.

Azpilicueta reportedly participated in a "stormy meeting" with Sarri on Monday. The defender was supported by Willian. Both players reacted to the Chelsea manager's decision to publicly slam his teammates.

Azpilicueta is in his seventh season at Stamford Bridge and was captain of the team for most of the campaign. Gary Cahill failed to win a spot on the team.

It was reported that Sarri was impressed by the "franchise" of Azpilicueta and his desire to defend the other members of the Chelsea squad.
