The loan agreement from Newcastle to Jordan Lukaku is canceled.

Rafa Benitez's men seemed ready to conclude a loan agreement for the Belgian left-back and Lazio.

Lukaku, who is the brother of Romelu, the Manchester United striker, went to Tyneside for a medical examination on Friday.

It was hoped that the deal would be reached over the weekend, but the club confirmed that it was suspended amid reports that Lukaku had failed a medical examination.

"Newcastle United can confirm that Jordan Lukaku will not join the club," the club said in a statement.

"We wish Jordan all the best for the future."
