Revised emergency plan for polio eradication approved

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Friday approved a revised emergency plan for the eradication of polio, with a total budget of $ 986.29 million. ECNEC, which met in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Asad Umar, also approved the feasibility study and the dualisation of the 42 km long Mardan-Swabi road. at a cost of Rs 9,550.10 million. The polio eradication plan aims to eliminate the disease through additional vaccination throughout the country and environmental monitoring to fully control poliovirus transmission.
