Wednesday explosion
An eyewitness said that a routine explosive attack intended to open the surface and create a space facilitating downward movement was at the origin of the tragic incident that occurred on Wednesday.

Robert Tampoare, acting president of the Association of Small-scale Mineral Producers in Ghana (Upper East Region), later pledged to "prevent the Shaanxi Mining Company Ltd. from killing our people".
