The deputy of Ledzokuku, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, said that he might not be able to prevent Teshie residents from staying if the last promise of the government to complete the Teshie-Spintex road was not outfit.

According to him, the last deadline for resumption of work on the road project is the end of March 2019.

The 7.5 km road connects Teshie Lascala, Aglizaa, the estate of Manet to Spintex.

The MP told Citi News that a $ 20 million contract had been awarded to a subcontractor "who is mobilizing on the site".

Before that, Dr. Okoe Boye said that he had given everything for the road project to be completed.

Dr. Okoe Boye's earlier comments on the road were made in November 2018 after residents of Teshie Tsuibleoo requested that work on the road be completed.

"I did what a human can do to carry out a project. I explained to my constituents for almost two years … you explain to a point and you can not go further. "

"For two years that I have been in power, I have spent nearly 50% of all my efforts in pursuit of this road (…), I have informed all the officers of the country, including His Excellency .

But with a hint of frustration, he said the region could witness more intense protests than those in Adenta in 2018, when locals took to the streets to force the completion of bridges.

"I gave myself at the end of the first quarter. If, in the first quarter, we do not see results, all I can say is that it may be difficult to keep my people as calm as they are. I kept them calm for a long time.

"If you know my people traditionally, I do not think Adenta's are more aggressive than mine. If you talk about aggression and being wild, those of Adenta do not come close to those of Teshie, "said the MP.
