Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II with President Akufo-Addo
President Nana Akufo-Addo categorically stated that he had no interest in standing with either the Abudu royal family or the Andanis.
According to him, his only interest is to ensure absolute peace between the two royal families.
"I have said many times that I am not a Dagomba and therefore, I can not be an Andani or an Abudu," said the first man in his speech at the inauguration of the new Ya Na at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi in the Northern Region on Friday, January 25, 2019, "he said.
Nana Akufo-Addo however called on the people of Dagbon to work tirelessly to protect the peace that had been restored, which led to the installation of a new Ya Naa.
"There are a handful of people who have benefited from conflict for a long time and who have never wanted to see it end. We must not rest on our oars and badume that every citizen of Dagbon is delighted with the siltiness of a new Ya Na. Indeed, there is a new term for people who benefit from conflict. They are called 'confictpreneurs'. We must be determined to stave off such people by strengthening the process of reconciliation among the people of Dagbon, "he said.
