Arsenal has made a move for Ivan Perisic and the rumors coming from Inter Milan suggest that he might be ready to let the player go this month.
The Croatian winger has long been badociated with a move to England and the growing interest of Manchester United in recent years.
But Arsenal suddenly climbed to the top of the list of possible contenders for the Croatian winger after approaching the 29-year-old winger.
According to the BBC, the Gunners have been asking for a loan from Perisic for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy for the summer for around 35 million pounds sterling.
At a press conference on Saturday, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti hinted that the Italian giants could agree to sanction Perisic's departure before the transfer deadline, Thursday. but only if the agreement is acceptable – which could be a problem since Arsenal is only looking for an initial loan
"Perisic is a very good player, of course, there are rumors about him during the transfer," said Spalletti.
"If a player is good, it is obvious that all clubs will want it. Of course, the numbers must be enough for things to go wrong.
"He knows his job and also knows that we expect him to continue working as he has done so far. "
Arsenal plans to add two players to its team before Thursday's deadline. Discussions took place between Denis Suarez (Barcelona) and Christopher Nkunku (Paris Saint Germain).
Unai Emery is aware that his team needs reinforcement, but the Arsenal head coach admits it's not easy to make transfers to this market, especially when the club does not have the funds for permanent contracts.
"The club is still working on that," he said. It's difficult, you know. We only want to sign one or two players who can really help us with good performances.
"The club works, they know our intentions, our opportunities to sign players who can help us."
