Driven by disruptive vehicles like the Tesla Model 3, the electric car revolution is gaining ground. In the automotive sector, new companies are focusing on electric cars and veterans such as Porsche are committed to a future based on sustainable energy. Unfortunately, as can be seen in recent incidents involving the Tesla community, it appears that some groups continue to show resistance to electric vehicles as a whole.
Last December, a number of Tesla community members shared their experiences with blocking superchargers with gasoline vehicles. Some of these incidents of "frosting" seem to be the result of an honest mistake, but some were definitely intentional. Owners of Tesla u / Leicina and u / BarcodeOfficial of the r / TeslaMotors subgroup, for their part, noted from their experience that truck drivers who intentionally blocked Superchargers verbally harbaded electric vehicle owners.
Although such episodes of ICE continue to be reported in the Tesla community, an incident recently shared by an enthusiastic model 3 owner Mark Larsen has shown what could very well be one of the most direct acts against Teslas so far. As noted by Larsen, a Supercharger station in St. George, Utah, one of the company's oldest charging stations, was the victim of aggressive vandalism. During the incident, the vandals attempted to cut a Supercharger cable. The attackers also pierced the traffic jams at the loading stations.

As a result of the attack, the owner of the Model 3 noted that three of the Supercharger stands had become unusable. Fortunately, there were security cameras in the area. We can hope that the culprits of the Supercharger attack will finally be apprehended. As Larsen noted in his Twitter article, the incident has already been reported to Tesla.
While Tesla's electric cars are expensive to many, the vehicles themselves remain polarizing for some members of the automotive community. In addition to ICE incidents and vandalism against Superchargers, more and more cases involving company vehicles have been reported. In the Bay Area and in nearby towns only, some Tesla owners have felt to be targeted because of the frequency of attacks on electric cars.
While responding to a model owner 3 whose vehicle was damaged while unattended, Elon Musk said Tesla would deploy a "sentinel mode" as an additional security feature. Musk did not explain in detail the capabilities of the Sentry mode, although it is badumed that this feature would apply to Tesla's integrated dashboard solution and would rely on the surrounding eight cameras of the vehicle for video recording. Like Elon Musk, the name Sentry Mode seems to be rooted in pop culture and part of Iron Man's redundant defense mechanism for JARVIS.
In a recent comment on Twitter, Elon Musk noted that Sentry mode should be offered to owners participating in the company's beta testing program within two to three weeks. Given the omnipresent negative feelings of the anti-VE community today, Tesla's Sentry mode would undoubtedly be a timely feature.
There is no doubt that the revolution of the electric car begins. As resistance to electric vehicles is expected to remain, it is very difficult to slow down the transition of the automotive industry to the electric power sector, particularly as key markets such as China have both committed to a future based on sustainable energy. Among the automakers, Tesla's disturbances with the S, X and 3 models have virtually encouraged experienced automakers to accelerate the development of electric vehicles, as evidenced by cars such as the Taycan Porsche and Jaguar I-PACE. As electric vehicles are gaining popularity and more and more automakers are embracing sustainable transportation, we can only hope that resistance to electric vehicles will eventually fade and disappear.
