Police are making progress in locating the three abducted girls in the western region.

The suspect, currently in custody and reluctant to cooperate with the police investigation, reportedly provided useful information to help police search for girls.

The only suspect in custody, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, allegedly was behind the kidnapping of three girls in the western region, between August and December 2018.

Samuel Udoetuk Wills is currently in custody in Accra after being broken prison and being hidden, but was later arrested in Nkroful, near Takoradi.

It did not provide a location for abducted girls.

The police are currently under public pressure to pursue the case aggressively as more and more kidnappings have been reported in the country.

The high ranking police has given badurances that she will arrest the suspects and find the missing girls.

Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Redeemer Dedjoe, said earlier this week that his office had uncovered new leads that could help them in their investigations to find the three abducted girls in Takoradi.

Meanwhile, the family of Ruth Love Quayson, one of the abducted girls, said that they were still traumatized despite the new arrest of the suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills.

Awuradjoa Quayson, a sister of one of the missing girls, Ruth, said her sister's disappearance affected her family.

"Even when your child is sick, imagine the trauma you are experiencing as a parent. How much more kidnappings? My mother could not sleep since the day the kidnapper escaped from the cells.

"It has not been easy for a month, knowing that our parent is here, but you do not hear anything from her. You can not even tell if she ate or not, "she added.
