Alvaro Morata will have a medical appointment with Atletico Madrid on Sunday before finalizing his loan transfer from Chelsea, according to the newspaper Sources of the sky.
Morata left Real Madrid to join Chelsea after signing a five-year deal for a record £ 57 million in July 2017, while Antonio Conte was in charge.
He scored seven goals in his first eight games for the club, but finished his first season with just 11 Premier League goals.
Head coach Maurizio Sarri insisted on abandoning the attacker after having preferred to play Eden Hazard in an advanced role.
Morata's move also comes after Gonzalo Higuain joins Chelsea on loan from Juventus for the rest of the season.
Chelsea has the option to extend the loan contract for one season or buy Higuain for £ 31m, according to Juventus.
The 31-year-old striker worked under Sarri during his stay in Naples.
Morata will join Diego Costa, former Chelsea striker, at Atletico.
