The game that most people were waiting to steal the show fell in the middle of Saturday, January 26th. TakeOver: Phoenix.
The two men came dressed to impress. As if the story of a delusional Johnny Gargano trying to keep his promise of "victories and championships" in 2019, or the public spectacle that brought him his long independent rivalry with the North American champion Ricochet, was not enough. Gargano wore clothes inspired by the Jean Gray Jeans of the X-Men, and the One and Only honored Miles Morales of the Academy Award The spiderverse.
Things started at an extremely fast pace, but the champion had an answer to everything Gargano had sent him.
Ricochet was dropped on the head, which allowed Johnny to slow things down a bit. But things got done pretty quickly and the incredibly fast pace with which they started was maintained for the rest of the match. An incredible place followed another, with scenes like these:
It is partly for this reason that Gargano has chosen for the first time to display cement at the edge of the ring, like its former partner with the #DIY tag and arch-nemesis Tommaso Ciampa. At first he chose not to follow this path, but when the good road almost led to another defeat, the man that Ciampa calls Johnny Badbad emerged.
Johnny, who was coming back, repeated the words "I win" and rubbed against the ring to get a DDT.
