Man City is the favorite of the Premier League, not Liverpool, says Alisson

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson believes Manchester City is the "big favorite" to win the Premier League this season.

Liverpool remains at the top of the standings after 23 games, with a four-point lead over defending champion City.

Pep Guardiola's team is on a four-game winning streak in the first English flight, a run that includes a 2-1 victory over league leaders Jurgen Klopp.

After reaching the Champions League final last season, the Anfield team hopes to get silverware by keeping its good start to the Premier League season.

While goal star Alisson believes his team is strong enough to threaten City, the Manchester club may well return in the last 15 games of the campaign.

"Liverpool now has the quality to fight for the biggest trophies, there is no doubt," said the Brazilian to the press.

"But we still have a long way to go and it is important to know where we are going.

"City proved their strength by winning the league comfortably last year, they have also invested for this season, so their team is even better now, they are very strong and are the big favorites.

"However, we also have the ambition to win the championship this season and I believe in our talent to go all the way in. But we have to think step by step and keep our feet on the ground."

Liverpool is back in action in the Premier League on Wednesday after hosting Leicester, a day after City's visit to Newcastle. City will then face Arsenal on Sunday before Klopp's men travel to West Ham the next day.
