Chelsea declined to comment on information that 18-year-old winger Callum Hudson-Odoi made a transfer request.
Hudson-Odoi has been related to a move to Liverpool and Bayern Munich, who did not hide their admiration for the International Youth England.
Now, as the winter transfer window closes Thursday, Hudson-Odoi reportedly said it was planning to relocate, with Chelsea refusing to comment when contacted by PA Sport.
He has 18 months left on his contract and Chelsea could now choose to withdraw or keep Hudson-Odoi until the end of the season to convince him to change his mind and sign a new contract.
Chelsea has repeatedly reiterated his wish to retain Hudson-Odoi, winner of the Under-17 World Cup with England in 2017.
He made his debut in January 2018 in an England Cup win over Newcastle and made 14 total appearances for the Blues, scoring a goal.
He impressed in pre-season under the orders of Maurizio Sarri and was retained in the first team while many of his contemporaries were put on loan.
A graduate of the Blues Academy, who first played for Chelsea in under eight, he has played 10 games this season.
Five of these were starts, while his first of three appearances in the Premier League was held at Boxing Day in Watford.
He played 10 minutes in the first leg defeat by Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday and was an unused substitute in the midweek bout with Tottenham as Chelsea qualified for the Carabao Cup final.
Hudson-Odoi could have been expected to start Sunday's game against Sheffield in the first leg of the fourth round of the FA Cup, but the revelation on Saturday night could change that.
It was also reported that Alvaro Morata's departure was close and that the striker was in Spain before transferring his loan to Atletico Madrid.
The striker, who signed for Real Madrid for 60 million pounds in July 2017, had an unfortunate time at Stamford Bridge and Sarri said Morata had told him he wanted to leave last month.
The arrival of Gonzalo Higuain helped to fulfill Morata's wish.
