Australian viewers have criticized Channel 9 on social media for its decision to cut the first half of the pre-match performance of Australian pop artist Guy Sebastian.
Sebastian was promoted as a pre-game final for the men's final at Rod Laver Arena all week, but Nine's pre-game schedule was too busy for the performance of the former Iustralian star Idol be too tight.
Nine has only shown the second half of Sebastian's new single, Before I Go, after having previously promoted it in a recorded interview.
The decision to focus on completing the pre-game against Sebastian has angered some fans.
The other fans were much more offended by Sebastian's bright white threads than by the broadcaster's snub.
Channel 9 on Saturday night also chose not to broadcast the pre-match animation of The Voice candidate Prinnie Stevens, singing Katy Perry's Roar.
However, official broadcasters abroad, including Eurosport.
The cover of Perry's pop anthem by Stevens did not really appeal to some international visitors.
Her performance allowed her to sneak behind champion Li Na, who was heading for Rod Laver Arena, and presented the Daphne Akhurst Trophy before the final between new world number one Naomi Osaka and Petra Kvitova.
A little earlier, Sebastian had posted on Twitter, with the help of his fans, a teaser about what they could expect to see during Sunday night's performance.
In a cross promotion of the eighth season of Voice, Sebastian also told Nine earlier in his show that he was eager to attend the show, believing that this would translate into a sports theater.
"I'm happy to be able to play here," he said.
"It's a song I wrote with, I guess, sport in mind. I've always seen that it was sung to something like that and that it was about being a champion but leaving a legacy. So I can not wait.
