Mauricio Pochettino did not have to complain about the result as Crystal Palace beat his Tottenham team 2-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup Sunday.
The goals of Connor Wickham and Andros Townsend in the first half were enough to empty the Spurs of the FA Cup, just days after losing to Chelsea in the semifinal of the League Cup.
"It was a fair result," Pochettino told reporters. "They scored and we did not do it, I can not say anything about it, we can talk about possession and blows, but if you do not score, you do not deserve to win games.
"We had a crazy game schedule and we had to make some changes. This season is tough and the challenge will be huge for us.
"We knew the season would be difficult for us, but not as difficult as it was. We have been out of two competitions since Wednesday and we are disappointed.
"In recent weeks, I have listened a lot because we have been close in recent seasons. People wish that at the end we won trophies, but realistically, we are doing very well.
"To win a title here in England, like the FA Cup or the Carabao Cup, is to have luck and quality in your team."
