A Florida man discovers a "World War II" hand grenade, which goes to the local Taco Bell

A good thing to do if you find a grenade is to immediately call the authorities, as a man has obviously come to learn it.

A Taco Bell from Ocala, Florida, was evacuated Saturday after a fisherman allegedly stumbled on a grenade while he was fishing with a magnet. Ocala Police Department said Saturday. The man was not identified by the police, but he caught fishing with a magnet in the nearby town of Ocklawaha when he discovered the grenade. Police said that after he arrived at the fast food restaurant, he dialed 911.

The reason he chose to transport him to the Taco Bell was not clearly determined before alerting the authorities, but no one was injured in this incident. The ministry said a Marion County Sheriff's Office bomb squad was present "to ensure the safety of all".

"The mine clearance team removed the grenade without incident and announced that it would be disposed of properly," said the Ocala Police Department in a statement.

The man reportedly alerted the authorities around 5 pm local time, depending on the police, when the Taco Bell was evacuated. The Ocala Police Department tweeted around 18:45 the restaurant had reopened for service.

Interestingly, the police described the grenade as "a real hand grenade of the Second World War", although its type is unclear. Magnet fishing that brings back relic weapons is actually not as rare as you might think.
