The President of the United States, Donald Trump, had warned that the longest interruption of the US government in history could last for years unless Congress gives him money to build a Border wall with Mexico.

After 35 days, the president has signed a bill to end the stalemate, at least for now.

Government departments will reopen for three weeks, while congressional leaders will develop border security reforms.

But the deal does not include the $ 5.7 billion that Trump wants for the wall.
