County Health Officials Confirm 34 Cases of Measles and 9 More Suspected | New

CLARK COUNTY, WA (KPTV) – The number of confirmed cases of measles in Clark County rose to 34 on Sunday, and nine more cases are suspected.

Confirmed cases involve 24 children aged 10 and under, nine children aged 11 to 18, and one adult aged 19 to 29 years.

Thirty cases involve people who have not been immunized. The other four cases have unverified immunization status.

The Clark County Public Health Service has also identified several other places where people may have been exposed to measles:

  • Medical Practice of Kaiser Orchards, 7101 NE 137th Ave., Vancouver from 1:55 pm to 6:10 pm Monday, January 14th.
  • Vancouver Salmon Creek Clinic, 2525 NE 139th St., Vancouver from 8:15 am to noon on Friday, January 18th and from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Wednesday, January 23
  • Vancouver Children, Youth and Families Division, 907 Harney Street, Vancouver from 12:15 pm to 5:15 pm Friday, January 18th.
  • Golden Corral, 11801 NE Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver from 4pm to 9pm. Saturday, January 19th.
  • Vancouver Office for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), 5411 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver from 2:50 pm to 6:15 pm Wednesday, January 23.
  • Tower Mall public areas (entrances, hallways), 5411 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver from 2:50 pm to 6:15 pm. Wednesday, January 23.

In Clark County, the Ministry of Public Health continues to maintain a list of possible public exposure sites, including twice Portland International Airport, schools, health care facilities, businesses and the Moda center for a January 11th Blazers game.

On Friday, the Oregon Health Authority confirmed a case of measles in Multnomah County.

The Washington Department of Health has also reported a case of measles in King County.

Governor Jay Inslee said Friday a local public health emergency in response to the measles outbreak.

Clark County Health officials have created a call center for people with questions at 360-397-8021. The call center is open from 9am to 5pm. Daily.
